Benz Patent Motor Car
Karl Benz Patent Motor Car, built in 1885, is recognized as the world's first car, that means, design of a car driven by a motor. Benz, officially presented it on 3 July, 1886 on the "Ringstrasse" in Mannheim.
The car design was awarded the German patent, No. 37,435, applied for the Benz on 29 January 1886. According to official procedures, the date the application is setting the date of patent for the invention when the patent was granted.
