Standuhr-Motor
Unlike the prevously used cnventional stationary gas-powered four-stroke engines this engine is drivern by
fuel combustion, and after gasification of the liquid gasoline in the carburetor initiated a glow tube ignition the
combusttion of the pre-compressed fuel-air mixture in the cylinder. The single-cylinderengine weight only
60kg, had a displacement of 264 cc and made at 650 rotations per minute about 1 HP, it was by RPM
increased due to increasing effectieness and efficiency, also allowed the down sized construktion and the
gasoline drive to use it in any location. On April 3rd 1885, Daimler received the Patent No. 43 926 on his
combustion engine, which is known as the "Standuhr-Motor" (grandfather clock engine) in history of technology.
